The Scramble

After 32 years of The Scramble, in June 2025 The Scramble was discontinued by the PGA of Australia.

Played since 1992 across Australia, it quickly became Australia’s largest and most popular pro-amateur team’s event, with more than 10,000 events offering PGA Members the chance to play in a 4-person Ambrose alongside, and create lifelong memories, with over 1 million golfers at Local, Regional and Championship Final level. It was considered a global leader and a source of great pride for the PGA of Australia.

Although The Scramble has played an important, and successful, role in Australian golf for the past three decades, the decision to cancel The Scramble was made as golf’s popularity continues to grow, the way golfers play the game changes, and the industry evolves.

The PGA of Australia thanks every club, participant and PGA Member that has played a part in The Scramble and will continue to explore initiatives that are in the best interests of its members and golfers.
