On Wednesday the 28 of May at Northbridge Golf Club, the annual Women’s Holden Scramble saw an amazing start for the winning team.

With a shotgun start for the 17 teams of visitors and Members, the first shot for Sylvie Manning and her team was on the 11th hole, a Par 3 of over 200 metres. Playing off a handicap of 15, Sylvie hit a great shot just to the left of the green. Not seeing it finish, the team all assumed Sylvie’s ball was in amongst the trees or just on the edge of the green.

On approach with no sign of the ball they looked in the hole and there it was… A great start with the team 2 under after the first hole!

The ladies of Northbridge and their visitors all get into the spirit of the day and dress in Holden colours to show their appreciation of the generosity of their sponsor Northside Holden at Artarmon. Mark Beuth, General Manager of Northside Holden was there to present the prizes to the winning players and of course the winning team.

After starting with an amazing Hole in One, the winners, Sylvie Manning (15), Karen Mayoh (14), Jane Loveday (9) and Julie Jones (20), finished with 5 under par (59) and a nett score of 51 ¾ .

Sylvie shouted the bar on her return to the clubhouse, and her team will now be looking forward to the Holden Scramble Women’s State Finals later in the year, and competing for a place in the Championship Final.
