The 2020/21 Volkswagen Scramble Regional Final season has now officially concluded with 28 lucky teams booking themselves into the 2020/21 Volkswagen Scramble Championship Final.
With a few COVID-19 related disruptions to contend with, the 2020/21 season was far from routine with local events running well into April in order to fit them into busy club schedules. Still, despite floods, lockdowns and further restrictions, the Volkswagen Scramble season pressed on with fierce determination. Finishing the local 2020/21 season, we saw over 32,000 participants at 372 locally staged events across the country.
2020/21 saw some clubs with a huge appetite for the season, running as many events as they could fit in the calendar. Tropics Golf Club in Far North Queensland hosting a remarkable five local events during the season, offering them eight qualifying teams to play in their Regional Final.
Joining the 28 winning teams will be Campbelltown Golf Club led by Head Professional Scott Martyn who were awarded the fast track to the Championship Final competition prize. Any local host venue who ran their event before the 31st of December 2020 went into the draw to fast track straight to the Championship Final, a huge scoop for Campbelltown and PGA Professional Scott Martyn.
