After 24 years the Holden Scramble, Australia’s most loved pro-amateur team’s event, is entering the digital age and moving its paper based registration process online.

The Holden Scramble has launched a new online tournament management system that will streamline the entry process, increase interaction for Holden Scramblers, enhance data collection and reduce administration for Holden Scramble Coordinators.

One significant feature of the system is its integration with Golf Link, allowing participants to enter their Golf Link number and have their information automatically generated into the Holden Scramble online system. Also offered is greater interaction with the Holden Scramble website covering event specific information, results and hole-by-hole statistics for Holden Scramble teams.

Chief Membership Officer of the PGA of Australia, Gavin Kirkman, is thrilled to see the new system go live and the on-going benefits it will provide to those who run, play or sponsor a Holden Scramble event.

“The majority of events these days, whether you are a participant or spectator, require registration or payment online so it was only natural that we looked at offering online sign up for the Holden Scramble,” said Kirkman.

“The system provides flexibility for participants to register at their leisure and cut down on paperwork for Holden Scramble Coordinators so they can devote more time to other aspects of running their event,” Kirkman added.

During the initial implementation phase this new system will be incorporated into selected venues throughout August and September with entry fees will remain as cash payments through golf clubs, however a portion of venues will be trailing online payments to ensure a transparent process before the system is fully implemented in 2016.

As the new system is rolled out the PGA welcomes feedback on functionality and user experience. The PGA will provide a range of support services to assist Holden Scramble participants and Coordinators make a smooth transition to the new online system, these include video tutorials, step-by-step guides and phone support.

The Holden Scramble continues to cement itself as Australia’s largest and most successful pro-amateur team’s event with participation averaging 37,000 annually, making it one of the most recognised brands in Australian sport.

Thanks to the long standing support of GM Holden, the Holden Scramble has been able to assist the growth of participation in golf at grass roots level across Australia.
