In 2015 the Holden Scramble has seen a nationwide boost in Women’s Local Events. The PGA Events Division has been working together with Golf Clubs across Australia to increase the amount of women participating in local events. So far this year, 70 Women’s only events across the country have been confirmed, which is an improvement on the 2014 Women’s only event total of 62.

Just two months into the Holden Scramble season, three clubs have run a Women’s event for the first time. Prospect Vale Golf Club (TAS), Quirindi Golf Club (NSW), and Howlong Country Club (NSW), all held successful events and sent their respective team through to the State Finals in October! In total, seven women’s events have been held to date, with Blackwood Golf Club in SA boasting the biggest field size with 76 competitors in their second ever event. It’s fantastic to see that female participation rates in Golf are increasing, and we are encouraging everyone to get involved!
