Texas Golf Club had a terrific turnout to deliver a successful Volkswagen Scramble event for Queensland golfers in the region in early November.
Located approximately 3 1/ 2hours south west of Brisbane, the town of Texas is near the NSW border and has a population of 843 people.
48 golfers from nearby clubs, including Emma Ville, Texas and Inglewood, gathered on the day for an event was enjoyable for all.
Local Member Adele Clifford provided and eye catching green Volkswagen Beetle, manufactured the same year as his birth, as a hole-in-one prize on the 9th hole.
Whist the beetle didn’t find a new owner on the day, it provided a perfect backdrop for a group photo.
Texas Golf Club representative Terri Potter was thrilled with the event.
“We are all about having fun and enjoying the event. We love that the Volkswagen Scramble brings all our local clubs together to do just that”, said Potter.
Winners on the day with a blistering 57 Gross, a very nice 14 under Par, 50.5 Net were the Emma Ville boys. Congratulations Symmo, Harry and Hooter who now qualify for the Regional Final.
Runners up from the Texas Golf Club were Geraldine, Des, Phil and Dom with a great 57 Gross Score – 51.6 Net.
