Wakehurst Golf Club in Sydney’s North have held the largest Women’s Holden Scramble in four years. Last Tuesday, 108 women teed it up in what was the ninth largest event in the history of the Women’s Holden Scramble in Australia.

The Club’s Lady Captain, Sachiko Cathcart, is a former state finalist in the event and was determined to make it a success for her club. She encouraged all the members to get behind the event and by reaching 108 players, two teams will progress from Wakehurst to the NSW State Final at Riverside Oaks in October.

“The ladies at the club really enjoyed the day and the format. Now that we’ve played our first Women’s Scramble I am very confident that the event will be successful at our club in years to come,” Said Cathcart. “Our club members play in a lot of Golf NSW events and that factor has helped in getting them involved in the Holden Scramble”,

The Club’s Professional, Andrew Webster, generously provided lunch on the day and the Club’s committee added more prizes to the pool including animal head covers and ball markers.

The event at Wakehurst proved that the Women’s Holden Scramble is a great event for all participants and clubs.
